Going beyond Facebook
Since its release my service Tab Engine has been quite popular. To date we have over 1100 members who use this system. However I have noticed that the vast majority of people are not using it to its fullest potential. Because of this I wanted to make a training article to show you some of the ways that Tab Engine can be used beyond the Facebook platform.
So we all know that Tab Engine, besides having a ton of Facebook marketing tools included, lets you build contests, sweepstakes, deals etc on Facebook, what few people seem to be taking advantage of is the fact that Tab Engine’s drag and drop builder also lets you build these things for web sites. In essence the drag and drop builder is also a web site creator. It will let you put viral deals and sweepstakes as well as coupons and more on any website you have access to (including WordPress websites).
To teach you how to do this I have decided to create a live giveaway contest. First Ill show you exactly how its done, and then I will put the live giveaway on this page so everyone can use it and have a chance to win. So lets get started by building our giveaway.
The first thing Im going to do after logging into my Tab Engine dashboard is click the “My Tabs” link up top. Then I will click the “Create New” button to create a new tab and access the drag and drop editor. When creating a new tab I will be asked to enter a name for the tab. This can be anything and is for my reference only.
Once Im inside of the drag and drop editor I can use the widgets to create my giveaway. To start with Ill click the “App Widgets” button up top and drag the giveaway widget from the far right into the canvas area. This will add the giveaway functionality. I can then use the “Design Widgets” to add text to make my giveaway look nice.
When Im happy with the way my giveaway is set up and looks Ill save the giveaway and click the left pointing arrow next to the Tab Engine logo to return to the “My Tabs” section. From here Ill click the “code” button. This will give me a code snippet that I can add to any website I have access to, including WordPress sites, which will add my new giveaway tab to the site.
Thats all there is to it. We now have a viral giveaway app on our website. We can do this with any app we build with the drag and drop editor, not just giveaways. With Tab Engine we can put deals, sweepstakes, contests, coupons, squeeze pages basically anything we can create with the drag and drop editor, right inside of our website and our clients websites. So dont limit yourself to just Facebook. Tab Engine is so much more.

Thanks for your enlightening post. I wish I would have added before I bought the other WSO. There are many differences indeed, one very important one that you pointed out. On the other hand, the other WSO has several “prebuilt” type of pages that can be I framed into a tab that in turn will be mobile. I can see reasons to hold on to both of your applications. I am grateful for the software that you have supplied and I certainly look forward to using it. Thanks, Sean
Thanks again Brett for another great post. I too am guilty as charged for not using the software to it’s fullest potential until now… but for a good reason 🙂 I just launched my mobile marketing service this week & Tab Engine is going to be a main component of it.
I’ll be using my SC developer acct to build the mobile sites/apps & Tab Engine apps to add extra functionality.

That’s all great! Question is: How to get massive eye balls to that giveaway or anything online for that matter?
Hey Jose, these types of contests are a very good way to turn a ‘few eyeballs’ into ‘massive eyeballs’. Have a look at the contest up top. As of me writing this there are 84 entries. Each person was given the chance to earn ‘extra entries’ for sharing a link to this page on Facebook. Almost everyone did. Thats a lot of free shares and links to our site that we just got. Also you might consider social promotion. I actually recently launched a social posting platform that people are using with great success to get traffic. I will be adding it to the ‘Products’ section of this site soon.
I like nothing better than to see someone using the very product they are selling, it is the best way to market a product in my opinion. This is the first time I have seen a live example of the giveaway used on a website (not Facebook) and now I see how it is supposed to work. Thank you! BTW, it’s even easier than using a page on WordPress, because I think WordPress is good if you have a website for more than just doing a giveaway. But, for pure simplicity, all you really need to do is use Notepad for the code and save it as an index html file and presto, you have a website.
