A day in the life of an internet marketer!

I thought it would be cool to share what a typical day is like for someone in the internet marketing business.

A lot of times you hear people in the internet marketing business talk about all the BIG MONEY that they are making. Well its not all about the money for many people. For many people one of the biggest advantages is the freedom. Freedom that you cant possibly have when you have a job. Now I want to be clear, when your are in the IM business you do have to work and sometimes you have to work your tail off, but not always, especially when you get established. Here is a typical day for someone established in the internet marketing business. In fact its my day, the day I have had today:

8:50am: Wake up.  I didn’t have to wake up at this specific time for any actual reason. I had no alarm clock telling me to get out of bed. This just happened to be the time I woke up on my own. Every morning when I wake up, after a good rest, with out an alarm clock screaming at me I can’t help but remember when I had a job and I honestly feel grateful that I don’t have to deal with being told when my resting time is over anymore.

9:15am: One of the first things I do after cleaning myself up is check my support desk to make sure that there where no customers who needed help over night and who are waiting for assistance. Normally there is a couple of support requests, that take me 30 minutes or so to answer, today I was lucky and there where none.

9:20am: Had a quick Skype call with my business partner Mike (from Maine) about an upcoming launch we are going to be having soon.

10:00am: Drove my truck over to Minersville, picked up a guy who does work with me on my rentals, had a quick brunch at a corner deli and intended to spend the day putting a new roof on a part of one of my rental buildings. Unfortunately it was super hot today so I decided that I really did not want to work after all and didnt do it.

11:30am: Came back to my home office and checked the status of the current Facebook ads I am running. Conversions where good and I got 14 new options  so far. These people will go through an automated funnel I send out with my MyMailIt software and then eventually end up on my review list where I do affiliate marketing.

12:00am: Watched the last episode of “Band Of Brothers” on HBO NOW.  TIP: If you have HBO and have not yet watched “Band Of Brothers” watch it, its amazing. If you dont have HBO, get it and watch it.

1:15pm: Went back to my desk to check on support. A few customers needed some help. Also had a look at the results of an affiliate email that went out automatically for a review I wrote the night before. Honestly it was not going so good. People liked the review, but my conversions where a bit low. I only made about $200 at this point.

2:00pm: Given that it was a nice summer day, and remembering that I just bought a fun little convertible sports car I decided to go for a country drive. While I was out I also recorded a video for a Facebook ad. Nothing like getting some work done when you’re having a good time eh 🙂

3:00pm: Came home, edited the video I recorded and took a nap. Hey it was really hot out, the top was down, and I’m fat and old! Cut me some slack!

4:30pm: Finished up the final touches one the sales page for the product I am about to launch with Mike and added the bonuses we are going to be giving away to the members area.

6:00pm: Supper time! Ordered a pizza, and ate 4 slices of it while I played Chess online. Moved my ELO rating up 30 points. Sweet! (yea Im a nerd).

8:30pm: Checked my support again. Answered 2 tickets, and also had a look at my promotion stats. Conversions improved slightly and my affiliate commissions where up to around $600 for the day. While I was on JVZoo I also noticed that I had earned $192 so far today selling my own software (via the automated funnel and my Facebook ads), not bad given that I spend $20 a day on the ads.

10:00pm: Getting ready to create new squeeze page for my ads. But I might just go watch some TV or something instead. This is what time it is right now and I’m not sure if I want to work anymore. Not that I did a ton of work anyway, but really I do not feel guilty about not doing a ton of work. So far today I earned $809 from my promotion and my automated funnel. Not my best day by a long shot, but not bad. I remember when I use to work a week at a job I hated for less money than that. Each day I honestly think to myself that I am blessed. Ok Ill make the squeeze page, then Im going to go watch reruns of Game of Thrones 🙂 … ahh the internet marketing life … its so damn hard!

A quick note about the reviews I do on this site. The product vendors give me access to their products for free in order for me to do my review. However I make no promises to them regarding the results of my tests or what I will write in my review. Should you click a link that takes you to a sales page for a paid product for sale this link will be an affiliate link and I will be paid a percentage of the sales price should you decide to invest in it.

Hi Brett… I have tried to send a support ticket for days but I do send the email to the sipport desk but normally I would get an automated email in reply and then you answer quickly… Have you changed your support desk by any chance?
