Today Im taking a look at a new WordPress plug in called Review Buffer.

This plugin is unique in that it is designed to be resold. That is it is meant to be purchased by people who want to resell it as a service to local clients. It is also unique in its concept.

The basic idea of Review Buffer is that local business’s can put links on table tents, on their take out menu’s or receipts that instruct the users to go to a specific URL (their WP site with this plug in on it) so rather than promote ‘Review Us On Facebook’, the restaurant could push people to a review/feedback page.

This page would ask them ‘Did You Enjoy Your Meal?’ If Yes was selected, they would go to a page where they could find all the social media URL’s of the business to leave a review on… If No was selected, they would be sent to a contact form – capturing the negative feedback before it hit social media. This is the ‘buffer part’.

I like this plug in for two reasons:

1) Local business are always trying to get feedback from their customers (at least the successful ones are)

2) Local business will always want to prevent negative publicity

This plugin does both of these things. As I said it is intended for someone who will sell it as a service to local clients. While the Review Bugger plugin is a one time free software I would actually suggest that people charge their clients a monthly fee for this service.

If you already do webdesign or work with local clients this could be an easy upsell product / service. If your just getting started with local clients you can include a free WP website for them if they buy your service (putting up a WP site with a free theme only takes a few minutes). Either way for people willing to work with real local clients I can see this being a viable investment.

A quick note about the reviews I do on this site. The product vendors give me access to their products for free in order for me to do my review. However I make no promises to them regarding the results of my tests or what I will write in my review. Should you click a link that takes you to a sales page for a paid product for sale this link will be an affiliate link and I will be paid a percentage of the sales price should you decide to invest in it.
