Tonight I’m taking a look at a new training called Flipside Profits

Flipside Profits, at its core, is not based on a new concept. It’s based on one that I have seen before but that I frankly did not have much personal experience with. Because of this I was pretty interested in speaking to the vendor and reviewing the training.

In short Flipside Profits is about building simple websites, ranking them (Ill explain that in a minute) and then renting or selling them to local business’s.

The first question that might come to mind is why would a local business buy or rent a website? Well for advertisement. Business’s spend a lot on advertisement, and I can say that from personal experience.  It’s pretty obvouse to everyone who comes to this site that I own a online business, but some people don’t know that I own (or have owned) several offline brick and mortar business’s. I know for sure business’s spend a lot of money on advertisement because I spent a lot of money on it myself. Also in one of my business’s I actually sold advertisement. Beyond that business’s owners are not stupid. They know that phone book ads are a waste these days. They know that newspaper circulation is down across the country. They know that with things like satellite radio, MP3’s , and streaming music via Bluetooth less and less people are listening to the radio. More importantly they know that the medium people turn to when they want to find something is the internet. Looking to buy a used car? Search online. Have a tooth ache? Search online. Need to get your dishwasher fixed? Search online. Need an electrician? Search online. The internet is where the customers are at, but business owners dont have the time or experience to take advantage of it. That’s where you come in.

So you build a website for a business or service with WordPress, not a specific company (yet) just a general site for the target service. Then you sell or rent the site to a local business, putting in their branding and contact info only after they pay you. Simple. But of course you need to get the site to rank? How are you going to do that with the millions of sites out there competing with you for page one on Google? Well that’s the awesome part of this tactic. You don’t have to compete with millions of sites. Because a business generally does not care about people half way across the country. Because of this you only need to compete with local sites. So your not trying to rank for “Electrician” (which will never happen anyway) your trying to rank for “Electrician in Pottsville Pa”. The very fact that business’s only want customers in their service area makes it easy to rank since your trying to rank for very specific keywords.

I have seen a preview of the sales page for Flipside Profits and the headline is something I really hate. Its a bit to hype for me. It says you can turn “$10 into $2000 in 2 hours”. I’m going to be honest. I don’t believe that for one second. I mean really, its going to take 2 hours to register a domain, put WordPress on it, add a theme and add a bit of basic content (need those local keywords). So it might be 2 hours of work. But its not like your site is going to be instantly sold or rented as soon as its done. While you may only need to do 2 hours of work this headline makes it seem like your going to get paid right as soon as the work is done. Which you wont be. Honestly I almost considered not approving this because the headline was a bit to hype for my liking, it should have said “with 2 hours of work” to make it clear that its the amount of work you need to do, not an absolute time frame.

Putting the slightly misleading headline aside though, after speaking to the product creator, checking out the training, and really thinking about what I learned and what was said, I do feel confident that the Flipside Profits tactic is a viable way to make money. I don’t think it’s something that will make you instant cash in 2 hours, or even over night, but I do believe if people apply themselves they can make this into a real full time or part time business. Now if your doing something else already, are already making money online, then you might not want to pivot into something totally different. However if you are just getting started and are still trying to find ‘your thing’ then this is something well worth considering.
