Today I am taking a look at a new software called ‘Live Vid Ranker’
Its almost like the universe wanted me to review this product. This morning I got 3 emails from people (well actually 2 emails and a Facebook PM) from people asking me if I looked at this and what I thought of it. Then about 2 hours later I got a message from one of the vendors asking me if I would consider doing a review of it. After that I got the hint, and I accepted the review access and spent a good part of the day today testing out this new software.
So before I get into exactly what this is, let me explain what it does. This is a software that allows people to take advantage of YouTube live streams. YouTube live is just what you would think, its live videos on YouTube. People love live videos, they love watching them because there is just something exciting about watching something live as it happens. Marketers love live videos because they get a lot more attention then other videos, they rank higher and get more views. Live really is the new ‘big thing’ when it comes to video.
But there are also some problems with live videos, especially if you are using them for marketing. Namely, the fact that they are live. Being live they are a lot of work. You have to actually be there, present, recording every time you want to use an event to promote a product (either as an affiliate, your own, or for a local business). Also being that its live if you mess up or make a mistake, well to bad everyone saw it, cant take it back or edit it out, it was live after all. This means, frankly, that using YouTube live, while great for getting views and traffic, is not for the feint of heart.
LiveVidRanker aims to solve these problems by largely automating the process of doing a live video on YouTube.
First let me get something out of the way, while the events on YouTube are ‘live events’ they are not actually live. Instead what is happening is the LiveVidRanker is streaming a pre-recorded video to YouTube as if it was a live event. What this means is that you can have a refined, clean, mistake free video as your ‘live’. It also means that you do not actually have to be present for your live event, you can just set it up in the system, set the date and time you want your live event to happen, and the software does the rest. It also means your live event can happen multiple times for even more traffic, without you doing any actual work at all. You just need to set multiple dates and times for LiveVidRanker to broadcast your video for you.
When I first got into the software I felt a bit overwhelmed honestly. I did not know much about it and there where a lot of options and menu’s. The first thing I did was go to the training videos. They kind of sucked though. The tutorial videos are YouTube videos, which for some reason have no controls on them. This means you cant fast forward or rewind the tutorials. Frankly I found it super annoying and honestly pretty stupid that the creators of LiveVidRanker for some unknown reason decided not to allow me to rewind a tutorial video to go over a part that I needed to see again. Pretty lame, especially given that they also felt the need to waste time by having a logo stinger animation in every single tutorial video. So instead I just watched them on YouTube itself where I actually had video controls.
On YouTube I got distracted by the suggested videos and spent about 30 minutes watching totally unrelated stuff and honestly almost forgot all about LiveVidRanker, but eventually I came back to the tutorials and after watching them realized that the system is actually quite easy to use. There are really only 3 main steps.
1st) You link up your YouTube account to the platform and give it the permissions it needs. LiveVidRanker uses the YouTube API, and I was already logged into YouTube so all I needed to do was click a link, approve their app, and it was done. Nice and easy. I could have added more YouTube accounts if I wanted, but since i was just testing I only added the one.
2nd) You upload the video that you want to use for your live event to the LiveVidRanker system, for my test I used a demo video for my upcoming Vidyz software. The upload speed was surprisingly fast, especially given my not so great internet access (I live in rural Pennsylvania and only have a 3/15mb connection speed).
3rd) You set your live event details. You enter in the title for your event (the system helps you pick keywords). You enter in your event description with any links you want (such as links to your site, affiliate links, etc). You pick the date and time you want your event to broadcast (you can pick multiple dates and times). Click submit and thats it, you are done. The system will automatically create your live event in YouTube and will broadcast your video to YouTube as a live steam for you.
As I said earlier live events are the new hottest thing on video marketing. Live events get more traffic and better ranking and since you can have links in the description of your live events you can use them to get visitors to your site, to your sales page, to your affiliate offers. While live events are great, they are also a lot of work. However LiveVidRanker makes them super easy.
One thing I have said many many times is that software is just a tool, and a good tool makes your life easier in some way. LiveVidRanker for sure fits this definition as it makes doing live events on YouTube a lot less painful a lot less difficult and even allows you to run live events any time you want without you actually needing to be there doing them. Because of this I say LiveVidRanker is a good investment for anyone interested in doing video marketing, especially those interested in YouTube and taking advantage of the powerful nature of live videos.
NOTE: Im not sure how long it will work, but try coupon code “7off” at check out to get a special $7 discount!
BONUS: There are several bonuses that everyone who picks up LiveVidRanker will get however because I like to over deliver I negotiated some special extra bonuses from the vendors. A quick note about the reviews I do on this site. The product vendors give me access to their products for free in order for me to do my review. However I make no promises to them regarding the results of my tests or what I will write in my review. Should you click a link that takes you to a sales page for a paid product for sale this link will be an affiliate link and I will be paid a percentage of the sales price should you decide to invest in it.
Thank you for the review Brett. I decided after joining IM Insider I wait with buying anything until there is a review made by you, because they are honest reviews and you only recommend valuable products.
I appreciate the kind words 🙂
As usual a good review Brett. For what it’s worth, I used Live Vid Ranker to rank my review of – you guessed it – LIveVidRanker. Next morning I had the 3rd slot on page one of YouTube and my review has remained ‘up there’ since. It works.
Nice! .. I really like that you used this software to promote this software. Very cool 🙂
Hello Brett,
Thanks for the review.
However, I am concerned with the obvious duplicate content and how this would possibly affect a YT channel.
After reading many reviews on the product, I find that no one has touched this crucial subject.
I really would appreciate if you could clarify this point.
Then, I may consider buying it, but still on the fence …
PS: I appreciate your work 🙂
Honestly, I am not a YouTube expert, I am not sure how that would effect ranking if you run the live event to much. I know thats not the best answer but its the only honest one. Being a product reviewer my primary concern is to test if the software does what it claims it will do (from a technical perspective).
Well thank you for your honest response, much appreciated 🙂
I’m going to give it a shot and see what happens.
But I would recommend not putting all one’s eggs in the same basket.
