Today Im doing a review of Invisible Optin.

InvisibleOptin if a retargeting training product.

Whats retargeting? Retargeting is where you cookie a visitor to your site and then later you have ads show on other websites to just those site visitors. Why retarget? Simple, when your selling a product (even a free one with an opt in) you will generally get a low initial purchase rate. However when you present the product to the same person multiple times they are more likely to purchase. This is something that all advertisers, even offline ones,  have known for a long time.

Even if you have never used retargeting yourself its likely that you have experienced it. Ever go to a website and see a ad for a product that you where looking at on Ebay, Amazon.com or WalMart.com?  Notice this happens even when the new site your looking at has nothing to do with the kind of product the ad is for. Its like the new site your looking at somehow knew that you where interested in XYZ product. Well actually they did know it. Since you where looking at products of that type on Ebay, Amazon or WalMart (or one of many others) they know that you are likely interested in that product. So they are automatically showing custom ads just for you based on this knowledge. Thats retargeting. Clever isn’t it?

Sites all over the internet are using retargeting because it delivers laser targeted ads multiple times to interested people. In short it works. Retargeting compaigns have been shown to increase sales by as much as 40%. In fact ad networks such as PerfectAudience cater only to the retargeting market. Its works that well that it has become a industry of its own.

facebook retargeting

Ok so Invisible Optin is a retargeting training product. Its video tutorials that teach you everything, from very basic to advanced, all about retargeting. It also includes a case study of a real life retargeting campaign. The video training is broken up into into 6 modules with each one having a few videos in it.

I was pleased to see that the videos are not long winded and boring. Personally I hate those 30 minute training videos. Each training video is only 2-3 minutes long normally and clearly explains each sub topic. This to me is one of the best ways to do video training. If you have some retargeting knowledge or understanding you can watch just the video sub topics that you need to fill in the gaps of your knowledge and get quick answers without having to watch a long winded tutorial.

The only thing I didn’t like about these videos was that they use a computer generated voice for the audio. The robo-voice is for the most part clear and easy to understand but I personally prefer to hear a human voice in the videos I watch. Now to be fair I can understand why some people would choose a computer generated voice. The world is a big place and while most of us speak the English language for many it  is a second language and as such they have thick accents which can sometimes be difficult to understand.

This product review has something very unique about it. This is the first time ever that I reviewed the OTO / Up-sell.

Most of the time I don’t review the OTO on products. However this time I did. Why? Well quite honestly I was more interested in the OTO then I was with the front end product. You see the OTO for this is a WordPress plugin that lets you run your own Facebook retargeting campaigns without needing to use a 3rd party service like PerfectAudience (which charges a fee).

This might be hard to believe but I litterly just signed up to PerfectAudience yesterday because Im going to be running a retargeting campaign for my latest software which is going into full launch on June 6th. I was going to have to pay a premium to the third party network for my retargeting ads but now that I have this plug in I dont have to. Well I have just one thing to say about that: Whoop Whoop, great timing on asking me to do this review guys!

While the training is very cool and is going to help you get your head around how retargeting works and how it can really increase your sales or opt ins for me, since I have a in depth understanding of retargeting already the real gem was the plug in. Perhaps Im silly but I just love products that let me get for free what I was going to pay an ongoing fee for.

In summery: retargeting is a proven method to increase your sales or your opt ins. Its used by the ‘big boys’ all across the internet because it works and it works well. The front end training is $9 on a dime sale. The WordPress plugin (a must have) is $17 one time price. I strongly suggest that you get both the front end and the upsell. But jump on it quickly. Since the front end is a dime sale the longer you wait the more its going to cost (the OTO is fixed price). Unless of course you already have to many sales and opt ins in which case you don’t need this.A quick note about the reviews I do on this site. The product vendors give me access to their products for free in order for me to do my review. However I make no promises to them regarding the results of my tests or what I will write in my review. Should you click a link that takes you to a sales page for a paid product for sale this link will be an affiliate link and I will be paid a percentage of the sales price should you decide to invest in it.

Thanks for the review Brett. (It’s refreshing to see such honest reviews.) You said the OTO WP plugin works for Facebook retargeting. Is the OTO plugin only for Facebook retargeting – meaning that you’ll still need a service like PerfectAudience to retarget outside of Facebook (like the recent “Retarget Engine” product)?

    •

Yes the OTO is only for retargeting on Facebook. Just a FYI. Facebook retargeting is one of the most effective platforms to do your retargeting on.

Doesn’t Facebook now offer retargeting when you run an ad? So what is the benefit of having a separate plugin? Maybe I don’t get it.

        •

I think you might be confused as to what retargeting is. Retargeting is when you run ads that only show to people who came to your own site, on a different platform. That is I come to your site, dont buy anything. Then later I see an ad on Facebook for your site. You cant do this on your own because you need something to tell Facebook who was on your site in the first place.

I assume this method won’t work with people like me who clean out their browser cookies daily?

Hi Brett, I have a business website but I am a total inexperience internet marketing newbie. Currently I in my possession I have FB Pixal Pro, WP pixel insert ( A gift from you, and thank you!), and I am also u
Interested in this invisible opt in product plus the OTO retargeting upgrade which I am willing to purchase as well. May I know what’s your opinion that How can I maximized these tools & is it possible to use all the tools at the same time for one website? Regards. Bill

    •

Well the concept is simple Bill, the idea is to build a custom audience for your Facebook ads so you can then re-target your site visitors later. As how to ‘maximize’ your use of these tools. Unfortunately I dont know what you sell or what your business plan is, but its still the same thing. You want to build a custom audience of people who have visited your site and then direct your Facebook ads at those people.
